Description
The State Model is a model that stores a range of states and integrates over these states during the simulation. It is commonly added to a spacecraft for integrating through a state and manages the base state data for the object itself. The model supports multiple integrator types for different accuracy and performance requirements.
Example Use Cases
- Orbit Propagation: Integrate spacecraft position and velocity states over time.
- Attitude Dynamics: Propagate spacecraft attitude and angular velocity states.
- Custom State Integration: Manage and integrate user-defined state variables.
Module Implementation
The State Model attaches to a Physical Object and provides state management and integration capabilities.
Properties
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Count | The number of properties within the cache |
| IntegratorType | The integrator type used to integrate the state; different types integrate the state differently |
Methods
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Delete | Attempts to delete a state property from the cache |
| HasState | Returns whether the state exists in the cache; useful for checking before accessing |
| Integrate | Integrates the current state of the object using the current integrator type and integrable object |
Usage
State effectors and other dynamics components register their states with the State Model during initialization. The model then integrates all registered states at each dynamics time step using the configured integrator.
