| AM = 0 | Amplitude Modulation - the signal’s information is carried by varying the amplitude of the carrier wave. |
| FM = 1 | Frequency Modulation - the signal’s information is carried by varying the frequency of the carrier wave. |
| PWM = 2 | Pulse Width Modulation - the signal’s information is encoded by changing the width of each pulse. |
| PPM = 3 | Pulse Position Modulation - the signal’s information is encoded by shifting the position of each pulse in time. |
