Enum in Zendir.Classes
Description
Enumeration of formation flying operating modes for the ROE-based formation flying controller. Each mode defines a different relative motion pattern around the target spacecraft.
Properties
| Declared | Description |
|---|---|
| None = 0 | Controller is disabled and outputs zero acceleration commands. |
| Perch = 1 | Perch mode maintains a fixed LVLH offset position with zero relativevelocity. This is a station-keeping mode where the chaser “parks”at a fixed offset from the target. Requires continuous controlto counteract orbital drift. |
| StationaryEllipse = 2 | Stationary ellipse mode maintains a closed elliptical relative orbitwith no along-track drift. The chaser repeatedly orbits the targetin a closed ellipse, returning to the same relative position eachorbit period. Uses delta-a = 0 (same orbital period as target). |
| WalkingEllipse = 3 | Walking ellipse mode maintains an elliptical relative orbit thatslowly drifts along the in-track axis. The ellipse “walks” aroundthe target over time due to a slight semi-major axis difference(delta-a != 0). Provides passive safety by avoiding directcrossing of the target’s velocity vector. |
| Teardrop = 4 | Teardrop mode provides an asymmetric approach-and-retreat relativetrajectory. The chaser moves below and behind the target, then comesup in front, tracing a teardrop-shaped path. Useful for inspectionor flyby scenarios. Requires active control to maintain the path. |
| RBarApproach = 5 | R-bar approach mode: smooth radial approach in LVLH from a hold distanceto a final approach distance, with zero reference velocity at both ends.Suited to constant-thrust or pulsed-thruster tracking. |
| VBarApproach = 6 | V-bar approach mode: smooth along-track approach in LVLH from a hold distanceto a final approach distance, with zero reference velocity at both ends.Approach is along the velocity (Y) axis. Suited to constant-thrust or pulsed-thruster tracking. |
