class FuelValveBuildupErrorModel;
Description
An error model that simulates fuel valve degradation due to impurity buildup over time.
This model tracks the cumulative fuel flow through the parent valve and computes an impurity level
based on a configurable buildup rate. As impurity approaches the threshold, the model gradually
reduces the valve’s actuation speed and range of motion, simulating realistic valve degradation.
The model supports valve cycling operations which can reduce impurity buildup, allowing satellite
operators to mitigate degradation through maintenance procedures.
When true, immediately forces the valve stuck at its current position regardless of impurity level.This is a manual override that sets the actuation velocity to zero and clamps the range of motionto the current position, effectively locking the valve in place. Useful for simulating suddenmechanical failure or testing stuck-valve scenarios.
The rate at which impurity accumulates per kilogram of fuel passed through the valve.Higher values cause faster degradation. For example, a rate of 0.001 means the impurity levelincreases by 0.001 for every kilogram of fuel that flows through the valve.
The rate at which impurity level decreases per unit of valve movement during cycling operations.Higher values make cycling more effective at clearing impurities from the valve mechanism.For example, a rate of 0.1 means the impurity level decreases by 0.1 for every 1.0 (100%)change in valve position during cycling.
The current impurity level accumulated in the valve mechanism.This value increases as fuel flows through the valve and decreases during cycling operations.When this reaches the ImpurityThreshold, the valve is fully seized. This is a read-only outputthat reflects the current degradation state.
The impurity level at which the valve becomes fully seized, unable to actuate.When the ImpurityLevel reaches this threshold, the actuation speed becomes zero and therange of motion collapses to the current position. Higher values allow more fuel throughputbefore complete seizure occurs.
The total mass of fuel in kilograms that has passed through the valve since initialization.This cumulative value is used to calculate the impurity level based on the buildup rate.The value may be adjusted downward when cycling reduces impurity to maintain consistency.This is a read-only output for monitoring purposes.
