The Earth model has properties that can be modified to change its appearance. The properties that can toggled on and off are the atmosphere, aurora, clouds, grayscale and cesium. The clouds can also be tuned. Each section below shows the settings toggled on the left compared to the default settings on the right.

NOTE

The settings can be found in the Viewport Options which is located in the top-left of the viewport. These settings do not save between runs of the simulation, but can be configured in the level blueprint.


Atmosphere

The atmosphere setting controls the iconic blue glow of Earth’s atmosphere

Aurora

The aurora setting controls whether the auroras are displayed on Earth.

Clouds

The cloud setting controls whether the clouds are displayed on Earth. The opacity, contrast and normal intensity can also be configured in blueprints using the Configure Earth Clouds function.

Grayscale

The grayscale setting controls whether the Earth is displayed with a grayscale filter.

Cesium

The Cesium setting controls whether the Earth uses Cesium’s Earth texture for a higher-fidelity model. This setting requires setting up Cesium, an external plugin. More information on setting up Cesium can be found in the Editor: Cesium Tutorial tutorials.
