Description
The Atmosphere Model is a Universe Model that detects the presence of an atmosphere and computes the drag and temperature values at the current location of an object.
Example Use Cases
- Drag Computation: Provide atmospheric density to drag effectors for orbit propagation in low-altitude orbits.
- Thermal Analysis: Compute atmospheric temperature for convective heat transfer calculations during reentry.
Module Implementation
The Atmosphere Model attaches to a Physical Object and it reads atmospheric properties from Atmosphere Planet Model instances attached to celestial bodies and provides this data through an output message.
Properties
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| In_TransformMsg | A reference to the transform message containing the current position of the object in the simulation |
| Out_AtmosphereMsg | A message containing all information about the atmosphere at the current location |
