Description
The Atmosphere Planet Model is a model that defines the atmosphere attached to a particular planet or body. It provides atmospheric data that the Atmosphere Model uses for computing the temperature and density of the atmosphere at a particular location. This model sets the altitude bounds within which atmospheric properties are calculated.
Example Use Cases
- Custom Planet Atmospheres: Define atmospheric properties for non-standard celestial bodies.
- Mission Planning: Set altitude bounds for atmospheric interaction analysis.
Module Implementation
The Atmosphere Planet Model attaches to a Celestial Body and defines the atmospheric environment for that body.
Properties
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| In_PlanetStateMsg | Defines the location of the model in the simulation |
| MinAltitude | The minimum planet-relative position needed for the environment to work |
| MaxAltitude | Maximum altitude at which the environment will be calculated |
Inheritance
This class serves as a base for specific atmospheric implementations. For example, the Atmosphere Exponential Planet Model extends this class to provide an exponential density profile with configurable scale heights.
