Use the ordinary Studio workspace to close the readiness gaps. Do not rebuild the mission from Space Range definitions.
Adding missing spacecraft hardware
Select the spacecraft in the Outliner and enter Build Mode. Use the Inventory to add any missing:
- Battery
- Receiver
- Transmitter
- Storage
- Computer or Guidance Computer
- Reaction Wheels
Add a chassis first when the spacecraft does not already have one. Configure each component through Properties.
See Configuring Components for the placement workflow.
Checking communications settings
Review the Receiver and Transmitter:
- antenna gain
- enabled state
- component name
- any existing frequency or telemetry configuration
Space Range initializes team frequency and key values when the range controller is attached. Make sure the spacecraft hardware can support the exercise’s intended communication behavior.
Adding ground stations
Return to the planet view. Add at least one Ground Station from the Inventory, then configure its geodetic position.
For the Pathfinder example, add stations near Madrid and Singapore. Add appropriate ground communications hardware when the mission’s link budget requires it.
Follow Creating Ground Stations for station placement, access cones, and spacecraft access.
Testing the expanded Studio mission
Before assigning a team:
- save the project
- play from reset
- confirm the new components remain powered
- confirm the spacecraft can point as required
- confirm ground-station access occurs
- check the Console
- reset
WARNING
Do not use Construct Scenario to add these objects. That action rebuilds the range from Space Range definitions and can remove the Inventory objects you are trying to preserve.
