The MCP Server connects Zendir Studio to AI agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that lets an agent discover and call tools in another application. With the server running, an agent such as Cursor or Claude Code can build spacecraft from the Inventory, wire power networks and flight software, schedule events, run the simulation, and read back recorded telemetry, all in the project you have open.

The agent works on the same simulation you see. Objects it creates appear in the Outliner Panel and Viewport Panel, and you can inspect or change them yourself at any time. The server only accepts connections from the computer Studio is running on, and it does not need an API key: the agent uses its own model and account.

Minimum Requirements

  • Zendir Studio installed, with a project open.
  • An agent that supports MCP over HTTP, such as Cursor or Claude Code, running on the same computer.
  • Familiarity with Running a Simulation in Studio.

Key Learnings

  • Connection: Start the MCP Server from the Chat overlay and connect Cursor, Claude Code, or another MCP client to it.
  • Building: Have an agent add spacecraft and components from the Inventory, set orbits, and change properties.
  • Wiring: Create power buses, attach models and flight software, and connect messages between components.
  • Events: Schedule timed and conditional commands, and review when each event fired.
  • Results: Run the simulation, record telemetry, and export data or simulation files for analysis.
  • Workspace: Open, move, and close panels, and set the whole layout or apply a preset.
